ZigZag and Moss Mini-Gansey
A miniature gansey worked in the round from the bottom up, with a diagonal zigzag travelling across a moss stitch ground.
This is a true mini-gansey, not a sampler. It contains the full architecture of a traditional fisherman's sweater: seamless construction, underarm gussets, a definition ridge, half-patterning on the body, and shoulder saddles. Same techniques and at just 13 cm from neck to hips, a fraction of the time.
Skills: casting on and off, knit, purl, working in the round, stocking stitch, ribbing, cables, increasing, decreasing, picking up stitches, grafting (Kitchener or three-needle bind-off).
Materials: West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Dusty Miller (25g). 2.25mm (US 1) circular or double-pointed needles. Approx. 6.25m / 5.7yds used.
